The RISE department at Texas Tech University hosts suicide prevention week on campus to promote education, awareness, and support.
Challenges
RISE faced the challenge of promoting suicide awareness in a way that was both respectful and approachable. We aimed to strike this balance by creating excitement and boosting attendance for Suicide Prevention Week events. By offering free promotional materials, we engaged the community, fostering a supportive and hopeful atmosphere that encouraged open conversations and awareness.
Solutions
RISE aimed to focus its messaging on hope during Suicide Prevention Week. I was responsible for designing stickers, a T-shirt, and marketing collateral for our premier event, which included a glow yoga session followed by a glow walk. This event was dedicated to supporting suicide prevention and those affected by it.The shirt design drew inspiration from the Palo Duro Canyon, a popular outdoor retreat near Lubbock. It featured a mountainous landscape to symbolize resilience and the journey toward healing.
