// Graphic Novel

In a small Texas town, a mental facility is home to patients with varying cognitive abilities. Raymond Richards grapples with recurring delusions of being a pilot, despite lacking aviation experience, leading to unsettling episodes of psychosis. As his grip on reality wavers, "Turbulence" navigates the interplay between truth and illusion, weaving a poignant tale of human connection amidst the chaos of the mind.

The Process

I conducted interviews with a staff member from a mental health facility to gather insights and firsthand accounts of an unlikely friendship. I researched graphic novels, sketched storyboards, crafted the narrative, and illustrated the pages, first by hand and then digitally. These efforts culminated in Turbulence, a graphic novel based on a true story, entirely written and illustrated by me.
